There are several types of headaches that chiropractors help with including cluster headaches and the most common being tension headaches. Cluster headaches are multiple severe headaches on one side of the head and typically around the eye. Tension headaches are the most common. The pain can radiate from the lower back of the head , the neck, eyes or other muscle groups and typically affects both sides of the head.
Chiropractors can also help with migraine headaches which are recurrent moderate to severe headaches that typically affect one side of the head and are pulsating in nature and last from a few hours up to three days. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light, sound or smell.
Allie Chiropractic frequently sees patients that have pain, numbness and tingling of the arms, hands, legs and feet that can be associated with referred symptoms from the spine. However, many problems can be associated with injuries or repetitive activities that affect the muscles, joints and nerves in the arms, hands, legs and feet.
Sciatica is pain that impacts the longest nerve in the body. The sciatic nerve runs from the lower spine down the back of the leg. Lower back pain and leg pain are common symptoms of sciatica. Other problems like spinal stenosis, piriformis syndrome, or spondylolisthesis may cause sciatica. Spinal manipulation is a chiropractic method that have been used to treat this condition.
Radiculopathy is more commonly known as a pinched nerve. In radiculopathy, the root of a nerve experiences compression, leading to pain, numbness, and tingling.
